Jetzt, da das Geschrei über das Verhalten Israels mal wieder unendlich groß ist, wird es Zeit für die Wahrheit. Auch wenn der Begriff "Wahrheit" vllt. nicht ganz angemeßen erscheint, denn ich berufe mich ja auch nur auf Quellen, kann man von einer erdrückenden Plausibilität sprechen, wenn ich sage, dass Israel zu Unrecht verurteilt wird!

Zu dieser Meinung kommt man, wenn man sich fragt:
1.) inwiefern so eine Aktion (sowohl die Flotilla als auch das Abfangen) nötig war und
2.) wessen Interessen hier verwirlicht wurden.


Es war überhaupt nicht Notwendig, eine extra Hilfslieferung zu starten denn Israel versorgt den Gazastreifen über Land mit Dingen, welche nicht in zu hohem Maße waffenfähig sind - aber davon ausreichend .
An dieser Stelle möchte ich einen Sprecher für die israelische Seite zu Wort kommen lassen:

"JERUSALEM (inn) - Am Sonntag[09.05.2010] ist das jüdische Fest "Lag Ba´Omer", das eine 49-tägige Trauerzeit zwischen Pessach und dem Wochenfest unterbricht. Viele Israelis begehen den Tag mit Lagerfeuern, an denen sie Kartoffeln braten.

"Omer" ist der hebräische Ausdruck für "Garbe". Zu den Kindheitserinnerungen eines jeden Israeli gehört der Geruch von Feuer und gebratenen Kartoffeln genauso, wie das Bild von Dutzenden riesiger Feuerstellen unter dem unendlichen Sternenhimmel. Am Vorabend des Halbfeiertages "Lag Ba´Omer" - in diesem Jahr ist das der Abend des 1. Mai - entzünden Juden in ganz Israel, in den Parks und in der Natur, aber auch am Straßenrand oder auf unbebauten Grundstücken, Lagerfeuer und braten Kartoffeln. Manche feiern mit Freunden, andere Feuerstellen werden von Schulklassen betreut. Polizei- und Feuerwehrfahrzeuge sind allgegenwärtig, um schlimme Folgen der Feiern rechtzeitig abzuwenden.

Wie Lag Ba´Omer zum "Lagerfeuerfest" wurde, ist unklar. Verschiedene Traditionen werden mit dem 33. der Omer-Zählung in Verbindung gebracht. Manche wollen mit dem Lagerfeuer an den Bar-Kochba-Aufstand gegen die Römer (132-135 nach der Zeitrechnung) erinnern. Die aufständischen Juden hatten sich damals Nachrichten per Signalfeuer von Berg zu Berg vermittelt.

Pilgern zum Berg Meron

Kabbalisten datieren den Todestag von Rabbi Schimon Bar Jochai auf Lag Ba´Omer. Alljährlich versammeln sich deshalb Hunderttausende orthodoxer Juden am Berg Meron in Galiläa, wo er der Tradition zufolge beerdigt wurde. Dort findet ein riesiges Festival statt, auf dem viel getanzt und gesungen wird.

Die Omer-Zeit ist für das jüdische Volk eher eine traurige Erinnerung an die brutale Verfolgung durch die Römer. Auch der berühmte Rabbi Akiba und viele seiner Jünger wurden zur Zeit der Omer-Zählung ermordet. Einer anderen Überlieferung zufolge sollen 24.000 Torah-Schüler in dieser Zeit einer Epidemie zum Opfer gefallen sein, weil einer den anderen nicht genügend geachtet hatte. Deshalb wird während der Omerzählung eine Trauerzeit eingehalten, während der orthodoxe Juden ihr Äußeres vernachlässigen und keine Hochzeiten gefeiert werden.

Am 33. Omer soll dann aber das "Studenten-Sterben" aufgehört haben. Deshalb wurde dieser Tag im Mittelalter zum Tag der jüdischen Studenten. Bis heute feiern die Studenten Israels Lag Ba´Omer als ihr Fest. Nach einer Auslegung des 2. Buches Mose, Kapitel 16, von Moses Sofer fiel an diesem Tag zum ersten Mal Manna vom Himmel.

Auf jeden Fall werden am 33. Tag der Omer-Zählung die Trauerzeit und alle mit der Trauer verbundenen Sitten und Gebräuche unterbrochen.
